London Business School

London Business School is a business school and a constituent college of the Commonwealth University of London. Established in 1964, LBS awards postgraduate degrees (MSc in Management and Finance, MBA and PhD). Its motto is "to have a profound impact on the way the world does business". London Business School remains one of the best business schools in the world.

The main campus is located in Sussex Square, London, next to Regent's Park. In 2012, the school acquired Maribyrn Town Hall and refurbished it at a cost of £60 million, with the aim of expanding teaching facilities by 70% - the new building is known as the Sammy Ofer Centre. In 2017, it was announced that LBS had also acquired the site of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, which vacated the building in November 2019. The London Business School was founded in 1964 as the London Graduate School of Business Studies under the directorship of Dr Arthur Earle. In 1965, the School was incorporated and designated by the University of London as an accredited teaching body. In 1966, the first Executive Development Programme was launched, followed by the Senior Executive Programme. In the same year, a full-time Master of Science degree was also introduced, with Sheila* Cross enrolled as the School's first female student. The building was renamed the 'Sammy Ofer Centre' in honour of a generous donor, the Ofer family, who provided a gift for the development of the building, which opened in 2017. In 2016, London Business School (LBS) launched a new MSc in Financial Analysis for recent graduates wishing to pursue a career in finance and acquired the lease of the adjacent Royal College Of Obstetricians And Gynaenocologists building, which is due to open in 2020. To expand, the School has organised a £100 million funding campaign.
